Thanks to Goooogle we now know how to make our own "bisquick" (not available in South Africa) so at last we can try recipes which include it :)) A group of friends are coming round tomorrow to watch sports so these Original Sausage Balls are going to come in very handy.

I would eat these for breakfast. Seriously. I eat sausage and cheese biscuits for breakfast. I will go with Edward and read through the comments. There are good ideas. I think if you want more bread taste- go with the 3 cups called for in the recipe. If you want more meat and cheese taste- go with 2 cups suggested by many commenters.

I love sausage balls, and this is a nice simple recipe to whip up a batch of them. I love using hot sausage in them as well, though my wife usually prefers something with a bit less kick. The comments have some really nice ideas, like the inclusion of cream cheese to help make them less dry. I'm usually drinking a beer with these, so the dryness isn't a problem.
