Unagi Sauce
Use this sauce to flavor eel, which might be considered weird Japanese food to Westerners, but is full of flavor and depth. Accent eel's natural flavor with this sauce.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup sake
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons mirin
- 2 tablespoons sugar
Instructions
1. Combine ingredients in a bowl.
2. Bring combined ingredients to a boil. Cool. Repeat once or twice.
3. Cut the desired size piece of eel, broil at 375 degrees F for about 12 mins, covering it with tin foil, occasionally basting it with the sauce above.
