Best Retro Salisbury Steak

Ingredients
- 1 pound chopped chuck
- 1 (4-ounce) can sliced mushrooms
- salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 tablespoon flour
- 1/2 teaspoon curry powder
- 2/3 cup hot water
- 2 beef bouillon cubes
Instructions

With the chopped chuck, form and pan-fry four patties. Remove patties from pan.

Saute mushrooms in butter for about 5 minutes. Remove mushrooms from pan.

Blend in flour and curry powder. Add boiled water with dissolved bouillon cubes, stirring until smooth and thick.
- Add mushrooms to sauce. Pour over cooked patties and serve.

This sounds like a quick and easy dinner to prepare on a weeknight when food must be on the table as quickly as possible. Ground turkey could be substituted for the ground chuck. When making this, I would use fresh, sliced mushrooms, instead of canned mushrooms. Serve the Salisbury steaks with mashed potatoes and a tossed green salad, and dinner is ready.
