Meat Balls in Cheese Sauce
Ingredients
- 1 pound mince
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 cup rice bubbles
- 1 Tbs tomato sauce
- salt and pepper to season
- 2 or more Tbs flour
- 1 Tbs butter
- 1 tsp mustard
- 1 1/2 cup milk
- 4 ounces grated cheese
- 1/2 tsp salt
Instructions
Mix together the mince, rice bubbles, beaten egg and tomato sauce. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Shape into ball and shake in a bag with a little flour. Brown lightly in hot fat or oil. To make the sauce:- Melt butter, add the flour and mustard and stir until smooth, cook 1 minute with out browning, Stir in milk and salt and continue cooking, stirring until the mixture boils, stir in the cheese, cook gently until cheese has melted. Arrange meat balls in an oven-proof dish, pour the sauce over and bake in moderate oven 20 minutes.
