Meatloaf, Savoury glazed
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lb. minced steak
- 1 cup soft breadcrumbs
- 1 teaspoon salt
- pepper
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tablespoons tomato sauce
- 6 oz.s can evaporated milk
- 1 dessertspoon dry mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1/4 cup tomato sauce
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
Instructions
Combine ingredients for glaze, set aside. Mix together all remaining ingredients (mixture will be rather moist); press into greased 8 in. x 4 in. loaf tin, then turn upside down on to aluminum foil-lined oven tray, leaving tin still over loaf. Bake in moderate oven 15 minutes. Remove from oven, remove loaf tin. Brush meat-loaf well with glaze. (Do not replace loaf tin.) Return to oven, cook further 50 to 60 minutes. Equally nice served hot with vegetables or cold with salads; good for sandwiches too. Serves 4.
