I am looking forward to making this this weekend for some out of town guests we are having. It has everything everyone likes, and makes it easy in the morning to just pop it in the oven and spend more time with your guests while it cooks. Have you tried it with different cheeses, like a swiss or even a monteray pepper jack? Or have you just made it with the cheddar?

Oh yum! I'm familiar with a bacon version of this, and since I love ham and eggs, this would be an ideal breakfast to make. This would also be tasty with diced Spam. We've been inundated with TV commercials for Spam recently, so that popped into my head. I would add some chopped jalapenos to the dish, or use a split of pepper jack and cheddar.

I've had sweet monkey bread, but I can't say that I've tried the savory version. This looks like a great breakfast recipe.
