My Grandparents used to make a dish very similar to this when I was little. If you don't have Spam, you can substitute chopped up hotdogs or balogna. I know that it doens't seem like the healthiest dish in the world, but it is pretty yummy and you can feed your family for very little money. This is a nice, solid, budget-friendly recipe.

Spam is something that I never thought as a kid that I would use when I great up. I used to hate the flavor, but I find myself craving it now. I want to fry it, boil it, and steam it to add to m favorite dishes. I love anything on rice, so this sounds like the perfect start to my spam recipe collection. Thanks for posting!

My late husband told me about the vegetable soup his Dad used to make with spam. I made it one day and I'm still making it. That was over 40 years ago. It is delicious and filling and we love it.
