7 Up Date Nut Loaf

Ingredients
- 1 cup dates, chopped
- 7 ounces 7-Up
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 egg
- 1 1/2 cup flour
- 1/2 cup nuts, chopped
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 pinch salt
Instructions
- Bring dates and 7-Up to a boil in a saucepan, add baking soda and set aside to cool.
- Add remaining ingredients, beat very well, pour into a loaf pan and bake one hour in a 350 degree F oven. Serve with whipped cream.
