I love poppyseed cake but haven't made it in years. This sounds like a really good old-fashioned recipe. I can't wait to try it. I like to try new dessert recipes in the Spring (lots of family birthdays, Easter, etc.) I never buy cake flour, so I will have to add it to my shopping list.

Lemon poppy seed cake or muffins are great. I've never made one before. I have never even seen a recipe. This is a pretty simple, straightforward cake recipe. Cake flour is finer and will make a difference when making a cake. You can always substitute 3/4 cup all purpose flour plus 2 tablespoons cornstarch for the cake flour.
