Brown Sugar Squares
Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups brown sugar
- 1 3/4 cup evaporated milk
- 2 tablespoons corn syrup
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 cup coconut
- 1 cup almonds
- 1 salt
Instructions
Boil sugar, syrup, and milk to soft ball stage (234 to 238 F). Remove from fire. Add butter. Cool to room temperature. Beat until thick and creamy. Add coconut, nuts, salt, and flavoring. Pour into well-buttered, shallow pan. Cut in squares.
