Chili with Pepper and Mushroom

Ingredients
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 1 large green bell pepper, chopped
- 2 cups onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 teaspoons chili powder
- 1 tablespoon ground cumin
- 1 15 ounce can kidney beans, or chili hot beans
- 1 28 ounce can whole tomatoes, cut up, with juice
- 1 cup picante sauce
- 8 ounces fresh mushrooms, chopped
Instructions
- Brown ground beef, onions and green pepper until meat is done and onions are translucent. Drain off fat.
- Add spices, beans, tomatoes and picante sauce.
- Bring to a boil, then add mushrooms, and reduce heat to med./low.
- Simmer 10-20 minutes until mushrooms have cooked down into the chili.
