Mom's Homemade Chili

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup onion, chopped
  • 1 cup green pepper, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 can (about 28 ounces) whole tomatoes, with juice
  • 1 can (about 16 ounces) kidney beans, undrained
  • 1 1/2 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper

Instructions

  1. In a skillet, bown ground beef with onion and green pepper over medium heat. Remove excess grease. Transfer meat and vegetables to slow cooker.
     
  2. Add garlic, whole tomatoes, kidney beans, chili powder, salt, ground cumin, and pepper to slow cooker and stir to blend. Cover and cook on low for 7 to 8 hours.

If for matt, reduce meat, add green pepper late in cooking
