Turtle Bean Chili

Ingredients
- 1 yellow onion
- 12 jalapeno peppers, seeds removed
- 6 garlic cloves
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 pounds ground beef
- 1 can (about 15 ounces) kidney beans
- 1 can (about 15 ounces) turtle beans or black beans
- 1 can (about 8 ounces) tomato sauce
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 1 tablespoon cumin
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon oregano
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- salt to taste
Instructions
- Chop the onions, peppers and garlic. Saute them in olive oil until the onions are browned. Throw in the beef and continue cooking until the beef is browned.
- Put beef mixture into slow cooker, along with the kidney beans, turtle beans, tomato sauce, paprika, cumin, garlic powder, oregano, cayenne pepper, black pepper, and salt. Cook for 6 to 10 hours, or until vegetables are tender and meat is cooked through.
