3-Ingredient Classic Scottish Shortbread Cookies
These 3-ingredient treats are one of my favorite holiday traditions! The Classic Scottish Shortbread Cookies come from an old family recipe that has been passed down for generations, and they have been a Christmas staple for as long as I can remember. The cookies are a great way to introduce your little ones to baking, they're perfect with a warm mug of cocoa, and they make great gifts for the neighbors! If you're like me and you love to do some holiday baking, but you're busy, you've got kids at your feet who want to be involved, and you're not very patient when it comes to intricate, multi-step recipes, then these shortbread cookies are just the answer!
Notes*If you’re not using salted butter, you can add about ¼ teaspoon salt to the dough when mixing.
**I used a 2 ¼-inch round cutter to yield 20 cookies.

I don't know anything about the intricacies of making Scottish Shortbread cookies, but I do know I like shortbread cookies, and this recipe for 3-Ingredient Classic Scottish Shortbread Cookies results in a delicious shortbread cookie, that is so easy to prepare. You honestly cannot go wrong with this recipe. I know it's not Christmas time, but why wait? This is such a great basic recipe that can be cut into a variety of shapes to suit any occasion or holiday. I made a heart shaped batch for Valentine's Day.

I love Blair Lonergan! I am like her and her cooking suits me very well. I love Scottish shortbread but it such a mission to make. I have done it many times in the past - pre-kids! Not only is it intricate but it is NOT flop proof. This recipe is so simple, cost effective and time saving. Definitely a winner in my book and I will be making some soon!
