Chocolate Snow Cap Cookies

These fabulous cookies bake into peaks - dust the cracked peak with powdered sugar to create the appearance of a snow cap. Delicious AND creative!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 tablespoon salt
  • 1 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon mint extract
  • 2 squares bitter chocolate, melted
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Sift first three dry ingredients; cream butter, sugar, eggs and extract.
     
  2. Add chocolate. Add dry ingredients alternately with milk.
     
  3. Divide dough in half. Cover tightly and chill for 2 hours.
     
  4. Shape in 1 inch balls and roll in powdered sugar.
     
  5. Bake at 350 degrees F for 12-15 minutes on greased cookie sheet. These "crackle" during baking, so that the appearance is that of a "cracked" surface with powdered sugar on the higher parts of the surface.
