These sound delicious for the holidays! These sound really thick and moist. The directions are so detailed! I only have self rising though. Do you think that this recipe would do well if I omit the baking powder and salt? Has anyone ever used self rising with these instead of all purpose? I know it works in most recipes, but I really want these to turn out moist and thick.
