Ingredients
- 3/4 cup butter, softened
- 3/4 cup lightly packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons water
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 3/4 cup all purpose flour
- 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 3 cups rolled oats
- 1 1/2 cup raisins
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- Cream butter, sugars, egg, water and vanilla together on medium speed of electric mixer until light and fluffy.
- Combine flour, soda and cinnamon. Add to creamed mixture, beating on low speed until blended.
- Stir in oats and raisins. Drop dough by heaping tablespoons onto greased baking sheets.
- Press flat for crisp cookies, leave mounded for chewy cookies.
- Bake at 350 degrees F (180C) for 12-15 minutes, or until edges are golden brown. Don't over bake.

These are delicious, but I did steam the raisins ( to keep all nutritional value ) for a few minutes to plumb them and added a pinch of cloves. This is a keeper recipe !

I have found that if you bring the raisins to a boil in water, then take off the stove, then put them into baking recipes, they are plumper and taste better than if just using them straight out of the package.
