Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon tube prepared sugar cookie dough, such as Pillsbury
- 1 tub white frosting
- food coloring (red and black and red)
- white chocolate chips to decorate
Instructions
-
Bake cookies according to package directions and allow to cool completely.
-
Divide tub of frosting into 3 small bowls as follows: 1/4 tub for black, split remaining into two bowls for white and red.
-
In the bowl for the black frosting, add black food coloring and mix until the white frosting turns black. Alternately, you can purchase premade black frosting.
-
For the red, add a generous amount of red food coloring to the white frosting. Mix well. Adjust color as needed to be as vibrant as you like.
-
Add frostings to piping bags and snip off the tips. You can use a zip-top bag if you don’t have piping bags.
-
To begin, make a large black dot in the center of each cookie. Add a stripe across the middle. Allow this color to set for about an hour.
-
Pipe a white ring on around the edge of half the cookie and fill in the space below to the black stripe. Smooth with a toothpick.
-
Repeat this process with the red frosting on the other side of the cookie.
-
Finally, press a white chocolate chip into the center of the black dot.
-
Chill in the fridge for one hour so that frosting can set. Serve immediately.

These are really cute. I know a number of our grandchildren are really into Pokemon and they'd get a kick out of helping to make these. I googled the poke balls and was pleased to see the wide variety of designs they have. I can see us spending an afternoon decorating the cookies and munching on them. It's great to have recipes the kids can help with.
