This recipe has been used by me for years. I got it from the Mini Page Rookie Cookie Cookbook for children. The only difference is the onions and mushrooms at the bottom of the slow cooker. You can put it in the oven too.

We don't care for Russian dressing. Can I replace it with another dressing?

This recipe sounds so delicious. I love Russian dressing and never thought of using it on chicken. I like the addition of the apricot preserves as well. I love recipes like this. You just all the ingredients in one pot and let it cook while you do other things. I work from home so this makes dinner easy. Just hard to work sometimes when you smell this delicious aroma. Thank you.

Oh! First Lady Melania Trump's favorite is Russian-inspired. Her bias for Russian food may have come from her birthplace. Melania Trump was born in Slovenia, used to be part of Yugoslavia and that is the explanation why she loves Russian food. They have similar cuisines.

This is a tasting sounding chicken recipe. I have made chicken dishes with Italian dressing but never Russian or apricot preserves. I can not wait to try this recipe in the coming days.

I don't know Babuska. but I can honestly say I love her Slow Chicken. What seemed to me to be such an odd combination of ingredients turned into an absolutely delicious, hardy family dinner. It is so easy to prepare (love my slow cooker), but I imagine this would work jut as well in the oven. Give this recipe a try, your family will love you for it.

Love this recipe and it is so ridiculous easy to prepare too. Just put everything in the slow cooker and it does all the rest itself while you get on with your day! I used fresh garlic (instead of the powdered variety) and we did not have any Russian dressing so had to be a little inventive but it was all good. A very nice meal on rice and with a crunchy, fresh salad from the garden.

This recipe looks so good, and reminds me a bit of another chicken recipe I used to cook when my kids were younger - it was one of their favourites! The sweetness of the russian dressing and the preserves is just delicious, and it is the perfect meal served over rice with a side salad! I can't wait to make this one again, especially as I've never tried making it in a slow cooker!!
