French Onion Soup

Ingredients
- 7 medium onions, thinly sliced (about 7 cups)
- 1/4 cup butter or margarine
- 3 cups beef broth*
- 1 cup water
- 2 tsps Worcestershire sauce
- 1/8 tsp pepper
Instructions
In a large skillet saute onions in the butter, cooking until tender, about 20 minutes. Place onions and butter into slow cooker. Add the beef broth, water, Worcestershire sauce and pepper. Cover and cook on low heat setting for 4 to 6 hours. If desired serve with cheese crackers or croutons. serves about 12
