Pistachio Rose Water Orgeat
"Pistachio rose water orgeat is an infusion or concentrated cordial made with crushed fresh in season pistachios in a sugar syrup, flavoured with rose water and preserved with a little vodka. Orgeat was popular before the invention of refrigeration and became a key ingredient in vintage cocktails such as Jerry Thomas' 1862 Japanese cocktail. Orgeat is usually made with almonds flavoured with orange flower water. This pistachio and rose water recipe offers a seasonal twist on the classic recipe that adds delicate floral and sweet nutty notes to cocktails and desserts. It's delicious on ice cream or in a twist on the classic Japanese cognac based cocktail."
