Homemade Bisquick
Ingredients
- 1 cup unbleached flour
- 2/3 cup powdered milk
- 1 tb baking powder
- 1 1/2 ts cream of tartar
- 2 tb sugar
- 1 ts salt
- 1 cup shortening
Instructions
Mix dry ingredients in a large bowl. Cut in the shortening until the mixture resembles course cornmeal. Store in an air-tight container.

equal parts of shortening and flour? Doesn't sound correct. Even pie crust doesn't use this ratio of fat to dry ingredients. Typo maybe?

Hi there! Thanks for your question! You can use this exactly like you would a store-bought brand, like Bisquick. But since it uses wet ingredients, be sure to store the mixture in the fridge. Let us know how it works!

I have been looking for a Bisquick recipe. Do you use this mix just the same as would the store brands?
