    Ingredients

    • 1/2 cup flour
    • 1/4 cup brown sugar
    • 3 tablespoons butter, chilled
    • chopped nuts (optional)

    Instructions

    Combine flour and brown sugar. Cut 3 tablespoons butter into dry ingredients until mixture resembles coarse meal. (Makes about 3/4 cup.) Sprinkle on top of cake or muffins before baking.
