For someone who spends a lot of time baking, I always like to keep appliances I know I can rely on to get the job done as quickly and easily as possible. A good quality hand mixer is one of those tools I use on a weekly basis. When I got to test out the Hamilton Beach SoftScrape 6-Speed Hand Mixer on an icebox cake recipe, I loved how smoothly the entire process went. I could easily beat together my ingredients using the mixer’s various speeds, and quickly detach the beaters to clean.

The best thing about the SoftScrape mixer to me is that the soft coated beaters mean I don’t have to scrape down the bowl as often. This was especially great when working with creamy ingredients like pudding and whipped cream. I could see that all the ingredients were being thoroughly mixed because of the soft beaters that function almost like a rubber spatula.

The mixer is also strong enough to handle larger jobs, like a thick cookie dough. Some hand mixers aren’t powerful enough to thoroughly mix batter, but this one is more powerful than most I’ve tried. What’s even better, it’s super quiet! Even on the fastest speed, I was surprised at how little noise the appliance made. I immediately imagined mixing together a batch of cinnamon rolls while the whole house was still sleeping. The set also includes standard metal beaters as well as a whisk attachment, and comes with a handy case so storing the beater and attachments is easy and organized.

I love knowing that my hand mixer is reliable and easy to use, so whenever I tackle a baking job, I have the tools on hand to get the job done as quickly as possible. The Hamilton Beach SoftScrape 6-Speed Hand Mixer is one appliance I will keep at the front of my cupboard because I know it’s a tool I’ll use often.
