Growing up, the only time I would get to eat King's Hawaiian sweet bread was at family parties, when it was served with spinach dip in the middle. Whenever I saw that round loaf of bread, I knew I just had to tear off a chunk, and another, and another. Now, I realize how great the sweet rolls pair with dinner, and how versatile the bread can be when baking! The popular bread in bright orange packaging has been a favorite for years, and it's the kind of bread that's easy to eat the whole loaf yourself!
I used King's Hawaiian sweet rolls and sweet sliced bread to create two different recipes, both of which turned out great. First, I used the sweet rolls to make Tropical Funeral Sandwiches. The baked ham, Swiss and pineapple sandwiches were the perfect hand-held size for a party and they were delicious! The King's Hawaiian bread adds the perfect touch of sweetness, which pairs perfectly with sweet ham and pineapple.
I then used the sweet sliced bread to make a Hawaiian Overnight French Toast Casserole. Although I typically use traditional bread to make French toast casseroles, using the sweet bread made it extra delicious! I broke the bread up into pieces, but the slices could also simply be layered in the casserole. It was the perfect ingredient to make the casserole, which was like eating dessert for breakfast. I can also imagine using King's Hawaiian sliced bread to make a delicious sandwich, grilled ham and cheese, or even toast.
Each one of King's Hawaiian sweet bread products is simply addictive. Whether they're used to accompany spinach dip, made into delicious sandwiches or baked into various baked goods, these breads are truly one of a kind.
