Banana Nut Chip Ice Cream
Our banana nut chip ice cream is like having a banana split right at the end of your cone! This recipe for homemade ice cream uses bananas, walnuts, and chocolate chips to create a delicious frozen treat for the whole family!
Ingredients
- 4 overripe bananas
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup sugar
- 2/3 cup milk, chilled
- 1 1/3 cup heavy cream, chilled
- 1/2 cup walnuts, coarsely chopped
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Peel the bananas and cut into chunks.
- Puree in blender with the lemon juice.
- Add vanilla and sugar and blend until smooth.
- Add milk and blend again, briefly. Add cream, blend thoroughly.
- Churn in ice-cream machine according to manufacturer's instructions.
- A few minutes before finished, add nuts and chocolate chips; continue churning.
- Makes 1 generous quart.
