Haselnusstaler
Ingredients
- 375 gr all purpose flour
- 125 gr cornstarch
- 2 tsps baking powder
- 1 pinch salt
- 250 gr sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 3 drops bitter almond extract
- 2 eggs
- 250 gr cold butter
- 250 gr hazelnuts, halved
Instructions
Combine flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, and sugar Cut butter into flour with pastry blender until all is well mixed to a smooth dough. Work in extracts, eggs and hazelnuts. Divide into 5 equal parts, shape into form of breadsticks, 3cm (1+ inch) thick. Cover with plastic wrap, let rest in refrigerator for one hour. Remove dough sticks from wrapping, slice thin cookies and place on greased (or baking paper lined) cookie sheets. Bake on center rack 20 minutes @ 400 degrees F. until golden colored. Original recipe Haselnu_taler 375 g Mehl 125 g Speisestdrke 2 tps Backpulver 1 pn Salz 250 g Zucker 1 P Vanillin 3 Tr Bittermandelaroma 2 Eier 250 g Butter 250 g Haselnu_kerne Aus Mehl, Speisestdrke, Backpulver, Salz, Zucker, Aroma, Eiern und kaltem Fett einen M|rbeteig bereiten. Zuletzt die halbierten Haselnu_kerne unterkneten. In f|nf gleiche Teile schneiden, Rollen (0 2 - 3 cm) formen und kaltstellen. Anschlie_end in d|nne Scheiben schneiden und auf ein gerettetes Backblech legen. Zur Mitte in den Backofen einschieben und goldgelb backen. Backzeit ca. 20 Minuten (2000 C)
