Red Cabbage with Apples
Ingredients
- 2 1/2 pounds red cabbage, shredded
- 3/4 cup boiling water
- 3 large cooking apples, pared, cored, sliced
- 3 tablespoons melted butter
- 1 1/2 tsp flour
- 2 tsps salt
- dash of pepper
- 1/4 cup vinegar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar packed
Instructions
Put shredded cabbage in kettle. Add water, cook covered for 10 minutes. Add apples, cook covered for 10 minutes or until tender. Combine butter, vinegar, flour,sugar,salt and pepper. Add to cabbage-apple mixture. Serve warm. Serves 6
