Gyros
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 pound lamb
- 1 pound beef
- 1/2 cup onions
- 2 TBS water
- 1 TB salt
- 2 ts oragano
- 2 ts black pepper
- 1 ts sugar
- 1 ts cumin
- 1 ts paprika
- 1/2 ts curry powder
- 1/2 ts cinnamon
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 sprig rosemary
Instructions
In a small bowl, combine the non-meat ingredients, mix thoroughly and set aside. Grind lamb and beef together, using large hole plate on meat grinder. Regrind using small hole plate. (Have butcher grind it if you don't have a grinder.) In large bowl combine meat, and other ingredients and mix. Pack into sausage stuffer and press overnight in fridge. Improvise if you don't have a sausage stuffer or cheese press. Cook by rolling over a grill and slice off as done.
