Instructions
These are the perfect thing for a graduation party, no matter if it's Kindergarten or College. The cookies are little graduates and don't require any cooking, just some assembly. The marshmallow is the head, the peanut butter cups and graham crackers combine to make the cap and the licorice is the tassel that holds it all together. The licorice is remarkably strong and threads through each piece easily. Placing the marshmallow flat side down, use the icing as an adhesive, and paste two small candies (little colorful flowers or stars work best) on each marshmallow to make eyes. Use gel icing in a small tube (sold in just about every store) to paint smiles on each marshmallow. Let dry briefly. Using a large toothpick, bamboo spear or shishkabob stick, drill a small hole through the center of each graham cracker and peanut butter cup. Make a slim hole straight through the marshmallows from the bottom of face to the top of the head. Pull licorice into individual strands and lace one through the marshmallow, tying it into a sturdy knot at the bottom of head. String the licorice strand through an upside down peanut butter cup next, then through the graham cracker. Secure all the pieces and tie at the top, leaving about 1-2 inches of the strand to look like a tassel. Use a paring knife to split the tip of the strand into two or three smaller strands, resembling the end of a tassel.
