Although a true pastrami is a cured and aged meat product, this recipe really does a good job at replicating it's flavor, due to the thick crusty spice rub. Since it is made with corned beef brisket, it is relatively economical to make, compared to the steep per pound price at the deli counter for decent sliced pastrami. A hot sandwich with this would be amazing, and juicy, and the cold leftover slices would make a great appetizer or party snack with cheese and crackers!
