Baked Ziti
Ingredients
- ziti pasta
- 1/4 cup grated mozzarella
- Marinara Sauce (see below)
Instructions
Boil pasta until al dente. Place in individual casserole dish and ladle a generous amount of Marinara Sauce on top. Cover with grated mozzarella and broil in the oven until cheese is bubbling and golden brown in spots. MARINARA SAUCE 1 onion, chopped 1 clove garlic, minced finely or more 1 medium (14 1/2 oz) can diced, Italian style tomatoes 1/4 to 1/2 cup red wine 1 to 2 Tbsp olive oil Saute onions and garlic in olive oil until onions are almost clear. Add tomatoes and stir to combine. Add enough wine so the sauce is as thick or thin as you prefer. Simmer for about 10 minutes to combine flavors (or longer if you've got time).
