Ingredients
- 8 ounces extra lean ground beef
- 3 cups green, red, and yellow bell pepper strips
- 1 cup onion, sliced
- 1 (26-ounce) jar pasta sauce
- 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 2 cups low-fat Mozzarella cheese
- 3 cups cooked ziti or mostaccioli
Instructions
- Pre-heat the oven to 375 degrees F.
- In a large saucepan sprayed with non-stick cooking spray, brown the ground beef with the bell peppers and onions until the meat is browned and the peppers begin to soften. Drain.
- Return the pepper mixture to the saucepan and stir in the pasta sauce, 2 tablespoons Parmesan cheese, oregano, 1 cup mozzarella, and pasta.
- Spoon into a 13 x 9-inch baking dish. Sprinkle with the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
- Bake, uncovered, 30 minutes or until hot and bubbly. Serve.
