Apple butter is one of my favorite flavors. Every year, my mom brings me over a mason jar full that she bought at the local fruit farm. They make their own fruit jams, butters, and jellies. I think she will appreciate this dessert. It will take her back in time to when we picked our own apples for desserts.

These remind me more of a pastry than a cookie. I would eat them for breakfast. Apple butter is one of my favorite things so I knew I would love apple butter rugelach. It is simple and not too sweet. I could eat them all the time. They would be perfect for gift giving too.
