Chocolate Fried Pies
Ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup shortening
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 1/2 cup sugar
- 3/4 cup cocoa
- 1/4 cup milk
Instructions
Mix all sugar, cocoa and milk together into a creamy sauce. Make pie crust by cutting shortening into flour with salt. Add water to make into a ball. Pinch off 1/2-inch ball and roll out flat. Spread chocolate sauce over 1 side and turn the other side over it. Mash together with fork. Fry in deep shortening until brown on 1 side, then turn and brown on other side. Drain on paper towels. Makes about 12 pies.
