Korean Confection
Ingredients
- 1 cup sifted flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 3 Tbsp sugar
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
- 1/3 cup cold water
- 1/3 cup chopped walnuts
- 1/3 cup chopped seedless dates
- 1 quart salad oil or peanut oil for frying
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar, sifted
Instructions
Yield: 1 1/2 dozen confections. Combine dry ingredients. Slowly add cold water and mix well. Roll out dough on lightly floured board to 1/8 inch thickness. Cut with a cookie cutter and press nuts and dates in center. Fry in oil until golden brown, about 3 minutes. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve warm or room temperature.
