Chocolate Rum Pie
Ingredients
- 2 cups ground walnots
- 3 Tbsp. sugar
- 2 Tbsp. soft or melted butter
- 1 small package semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 egg
- 1/2 teaspoon rum flavoring
- 2 egg yolks/2 egg whites
- 1/2 pint cream, whipped
Instructions
Mix together walnuts, sugar and butter and form ino crust in a pie plate. Bake at 450 degrees for 6-8 minutes. Melt chocolate chips, cool slightly. Add whole egg and 2 yolks. Beat well. Beat 2 egg whites stiff and add to mixture. Fold in whipped cream and rum flavoring. Pour into pie shell and refrigerate. Spread with a 1/2 pint of cream, whipped and finely chopped walnuts.
