Southern Pecan Pie
This pecan pie has a boiled filling with a perfectly thick and caramel-like texture and flavor. The chewy filling goes so well with the crunch of the pecans baked on top. The way to get a super smooth filling is to strain it using a sieve. The difference in texture is definitely noticeable. You can use a homemade crust or a store bought crust for this pie. Either will work great. The design of the border in this recipe makes the pie look as great as it tastes and its very simple. Just cut out shapes from the pie crust and cover the edge of the pie before baking.
