Pizza Sauce
Ingredients
- 28 ounces can chopped tomatoes
- 1 small can tomato paste
- 2 tablespoons water
- 1 to 2 cloves garlic, finely minced
- 2 tbsp. olive oil
- 1/4 tsp sugar
- 1/8 tsp garlic powder
- 1/8 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano
- 1/4 tsp dried basil
- finely minced fresh parsley
Instructions
Saute the garlic in the olive oil in a large saucepan. Add the tomatoes, tomato paste and water, the sugar and mix well. Simmer about 20 minutes stirring frequently add the rest of the ingredients and simmer another 10 minutes. Refrigerate any left over sauce or it freezes well for the next time. I sometimes add some Parmesan cheese to the last few minutes of cooking time. Taste the sauce, if you want more of any seasoning add it the last few minutes of cooking.
