    Saucy Oven "Fried" Pork Chops

    This stupidly easy pork chop casserole will quickly make it into your weekly dinner rotation. Saucy Oven "Fried" Pork Chops are pork chops that are coated in bread crumbs and baked with a mushroom soup sauce. This recipe for pork chops is great because the pork stays crispy and the sauce adds great creamy flavor! Plus, this meal can be prepared in a hurry, so all you have to do is throw it in the oven.

    Ingredients

    • 4 3/4-inch thick butterfly pork chops, cut in half
    • 2 eggs
    • 4 tablespoons water
    • 1 1/2 cup seasoned bread crumbs
    • 5 tablespoons oil
    • 1/4 cup butter
    • 8 mushrooms, sliced
    • 1 (10-3/4-ounce) can cream of chicken soup
    • 8 ounces sour cream
    • 1/2 cup chicken broth

    Instructions

    1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
       
    2. In a medium bowl, beat egg and water together. Dip pork pieces in egg mixture, then in bread crumbs. Heat oil in a pan and brown pork chops, 5 or so minutes per side. Layer in a 9x13 inch dish.
       
    3. In the same pan, melt butter and saute mushrooms until soft. Add soup, sour cream and broth and stir to combine. Pour the sauce over pork.
       
    4. Bake, covered, for 1 hour.
