I imagine the slow cooking in the oven is what makes these ribs tender, but I don't drink bourbon, so I don't know about the different kinds and which one to use for makng bbq ribs. I read a lot of substitutes for bourbon-non-alcoholic vanilla extract, champagne, sparkling wines and juices and apple cider, but these would all change the taste dramatically, I would think. Has anyone used bourbon and what kind?
