Moist Cornbread
Ingredients
- 1 cup cornmeal
- 1 cup flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Wet ingredients:
- 3/4 cup buttermilk
- 1 large egg beaten
- 2 tablespoons canola oil or bacon drippings
Instructions
Combine dry ingredients. Combine wet ingredients. Fold wet into dry. Mix and pour into a greased cast iron skillet. Bake 350 deg. for 15-20 minutes until top is nicely browned.

This sounds like the cornbread that my grandmother use to make, I can't wait to try it.
