Easy Caramel Sauce Recipe Gift Idea

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
- 1/3 cup milk
- 1/2 cup firmly packaged brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Place butter, milk, and brown sugar in a heavy saucepan over low heat. As soon as melted, increase the heat to medium and bring to a boil. Boil for 5 minutes stirring frequently. Remove from heat and let stand 5 minutes before stirring in extract. Set aside to cool and thicken.

I didn't know it was so easy to make caramel sauce. I love caramel. Pour it over ice cream. Dip apple slices in it. I don't know if I could make it and give it away. It only takes a few ingredients and a few minutes and there it is. No candy thermometer needed. That is good since I have trouble with them.
