Savoury Scones with Ham and Peppers
Ingredients
- 4 cups self raising flour
- 100g butter, cubed
- 1 1/2 cup milk
- 6 spring onions, finely chopped
- 1 cup chopped ham
- 1/2 red capsicum, finely diced
- 1/2 green capsicum, finely diced
- 1 1/2 cup grated tasty cheese
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 220 C. Lightly flour a baking tray. Sift the flour into a bowl. Add the butter and mix with your hands until the mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs. Add the milk and mix quickly with a knife to a soft dough. Add the remaining ingredients. Pat the scone dough to 2 - 3cm thickness on the baking tray and cut into desired shapes, leaving a 2cm space between each scone. Brush tops with milk. Bake for 15 - 20 minutes, until golden brown. Remove from oven and brush the tops with melted butter while very hot.
