These are not Tater Tots. These are croquettes. Delicious, but not unique or original. My great-grandmother made them back in the 20s. My grandmother improved on her mother's recipe by introducing grated onion into the mix. In later years, she took to rolling them in a bread crumb mixture that included Parmesan cheese. Now those were beyond delicious!
