Chilly winter days are with us here in South Africa so hearty and warming soups and always welcome! We omitted the rice because we (mostly) follow a low carb diet so we added some lentils instead. Such a wonderfully warming soup and the fresh veg from the garden tasted really good. Definitely a meal worth repeating.
