Gambas Al Ajillo Tapas (garlic Shrimp)
Ingredients
- 24 shrimp in the shells
- 2/3 cup olive oil
- 60 milliliters garlic, chopped fine
- Lemon slices
Instructions
Remove heads from shrimp if desired. Heat oil to smoking point. Saute shrimp with the garlic over fairly high heat until they turn pink, about 2 minutes. Serve immediately with bread for dunking or on a bed of boiled rice. Garnish with lemon wedges.

Garlic shrimp recipe is not new to me as I would always cook this recipe for the family. The hubby is allergic to shrimps so he doesn't share our delight and enjoyment when we have garlic shrimps in our meals. I don't use olive oil to sautee the shrimps, instead I use butter which adds to the flavor and yellow color of the cooked shrimps. Great for boiled or fried rice or bread in this recipe.

I adore this dish...wish I could remember how many times I've had it while living in Spain.
