Homemade Seasoned Salt
"Looking to add something extra to your cooking? Try this Homemade Seasoned Salt to give anything you make the restaurant treatment. Best of all, you likely already have all of the ingredients at home! This homemade salt recipe tastes just like Lawry’s Seasoned Salt, a product you may have seen at your local grocery store or favorite restaurant. Lawry’s Seasoned Salt was invented in 1938 by Lawrence Frank, who co-owned a high-end restaurant called Lawry’s The Prime Rib- named after the only item on the menu. When customers wanted more flavor on their prime ribs, Frank combined salt, sugar, turmeric, onion powder, and garlic powder to create a topping so popular that people would steal shakers of it from the restaurant. Today, Lawry’s Season Salt is commonly used on potato dishes, like French fries, baked potatoes, mashed potatoes, and hash browns- everything but the prime rib steak it was invented for."
