Can't Miss Cabbage Au Gratin
For a fantastic (and cheap) new side dish recipe to try, whip up some Can't Miss Cabbage Au Gratin. It's one of the easiest cabbage recipes that's loaded with flavor! With the added tomatoes, cheese and bread crumbs, you can't resist.
Ingredients
- 4 cups coarsely shredded cabbage
- 16 ounces can tomatoes, undrained
- 2 teaspoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese
- 1 cup bread crumbs, finely ground
Instructions

Preheat oven 350 degrees F. Cook cabbage in boiling water, til wilted -- about 5-6 minutes.

Drain well. Combine tomatoes, sugar and oregano, gently break up tomatoes.

In a greased (I use non-stick spray) baking dish, place cabbage sprinkled with salt and pepper, covered with tomatoe mixture, then cheese, then crumbs.
- Bake uncovered for 30 minutes in oven, or till heated thoroughly.
