Filo Wrapped Asparagus and Parma Ham
Ingredients
- 1 clove garlic
- 50 grams / 2 ounces butter
- 6 asparagus spears
- 25 grams / 1 ounce Parmesan cheese, finely grated
- 6 slices of Parma ham
- 6 sheets of filo pastry (10 inches by 9 inches)
- Lemon to serve
Instructions
Preheat oven to 230 degrees C / 450 degrees F / Gas mark 8. Infuse garlic in melted butter for 10 minutes over a low heat and 10 minutes off the heat, then strain and discard the garlic. Brush a sheet of filo with the melted butter and fold over in half. Sprinkle the half with some cheese. Lay a piece of ham at one end and top with asparagus. Roll up and brush with butter. Bake for 10 minutes. Serve at room temperature, each roll cut in half on the diagonal and serve overlapping in a ring, garnished with lemon.
